A San Antonio native and Austin music icon, Ernie Durawa's drumming career spans decades and genres, from his early days in Mexican conjunto bands to his Grammy-winning tenure with the Texas Tornados alongside Doug Sahm, Freddy Fender, and Flaco Jiménez. 

Durawa's versatility has seen him collaborate with a diverse array of artists, including Delbert McClinton, and contribute to projects like Los Jazz Vatos and the South Austin Marimba Band. His ability to blend jazz, country, rock, and blues has made him a cornerstone of the Austin music scene.

The Ernie Durawa Trio's performance is part of the True Texas Tunes series, which brings top Austin talent to the patio at H-E-B South Congress every third Saturday—featuring great music, good vibes, and BBQ. Best of all, the series benefits HOME through a generous donation from H-E-B.
